Some years back, as a sincere lover of Christ, I used to think academic/professional/financial advancements, setting/breaking records, prosperity, influence and affluence are all carnal and anti-Christ!
Until Jesus began to show me Mercy and open my understanding!!! Then I received sense that one can be great and his SOUL is PRESERVED IN CHRIST (very important)! That you can be in HEALTH and PROSPER, even as your SOUL PROSPERS. 3 John 3:2
Stop comforting yourself in mediocrity! Be it known unto you that the Lord Jesus is not glorified in your mediocrity.
Down the memory lane sometimes last year, I saw a pair of gladiator sandals I love and wanted to buy; but due to insufficient funds, I had to choose between paying for a webinar in a closed WhatsApp page that might never have a second edition and buying a pair of gladiator I could buy later, and I had to choose the former.
As lovely and monetarily valuable extra skills are, I know of people who went to train for the pleasure of it/to meet personal needs, and not to make money purposefully!
And if you want to monetize your skills, please go ahead... It's not carnality, don’t be too shy to make money as far as it is legitimate (this is a deliverance for someone right now).

The highest, indestructible investment you can ever make is in yourself; the money I've spent on personal investment for the past 3-4 months now; is enough to feed me well for at least a week, and some others in line. But why eat up a few thousands now at the expense of my future when that could bring me great returns in millions in years to come?
This is not some form of self-aggrandizement, but a wake-up call to sacrifice for the love of yourself and future. I understand if you are crippled by lack of funds right now, I can relate with your pain, but do the little you are capable of doing now.
If you could pay sacrifices for others in the name of love, sacrifice for self-love too, I beg you. You won't die!
As high as unemployment rate is today, people still change jobs as wished... So many people want a better job in payment, environment, etc, but they don't have relevant employability skills to give them a competitive edge, not even the basic requirements.
Tell them to attend seminars/get better academic/professional certifications, they'll hate you, yet they want a better job!
Go for training, register for online courses, attend seminars and webinars, get high income skills as needed, start that business, read books on life and living.
Invest in yourself and have a life outside of your school certificates! What is your living worth outside your job and academic certificates?!! There’s no dignity in mediocrity and to your schooling, add education!! Shalom!!!
